Carers Support

Information

We can help guide you with lots of information about everything from your entitlement to benefits, why it's so important to have Power of Attorney to information about the condition affecting the person you care for.

Support to access benefits

We will complete a benefit check for you, and support you to access the right benefits for you, and the person you care for. We also support carers to access grants and reductions that might be available to you.

Workshops and Information Sessions

We run free to attend information sessions throughout the year to help carers learn more about the condition affecting the person they care for or some other aspect of their role of carer.

Carers Support Planning

We help you complete an Adult Carers Support Plan to identify the ways your caring role has impacted on your life and what you would like to do to about it – then we'll continue to work alongside you helping you to achieve your goals.

Emergency Planning

There may come a time when you are not able to provide the care you usually do for the person you care for. To make sure that someone else knows the essential of what they need to help them be well it's useful to complete an Emergency Plan.

Carers Emergency Card

The Fife Carers Emergency Card identifies you as an unpaid or family carer and means that if something unforeseen should happen to you that leaves you unable to be there for the person you care for your emergency plan can be put into operation and the person you care for be looked after.

Having the card gives carers the confidence that the right kind of support is there when they need it, 24 hours a day whether the emergency is big or small.

Emotional Support

Carers can find themselves feeling that they have no one to talk to about their worries or how they are feeling. One of the most valued services we provide is that of giving carers the chance to talk openly and honestly about how you feel about your caring role and the things you are finding difficult - we listen to anything you have to say without judgement.

Peer Support

Being with other carers often means you don’t have to explain how things are for you, you can talk openly and you can hear how others have dealt with similar situations. In addition, you can have some social contact and relax amongst friends.

Reach out for Support
