Fife Carers Centre invite you to join us for a cup of coffee, a wee bite to eat and the opportunity to buy some handmade Christmas decorations and stocking fillers. The Christmas Crafts have been created by our very own Crafty Carers Group and are lovely to behold!
HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came along to the Quiz night on Saturday 21st October at Jokers bar in Dunfermline - a small and select turnout of family and friends of Fife Carers Centre on this occasion but we all had a laugh and enjoyed the evening! Congratulations to the Blue Team who won the Quiz.
The Tombola and Raffle went great guns and the night raised £382 -25 which was a fantastically generous amount given that there were only 42 people there! Finally I would just like to apologise for the incorrect information I had for one of the answers - apparently Wall-E's favourite film is in fact "Hello Dolly!" and not "Meet me in St Louis" (although I expect he quite liked that one too) so anyone who had Hello Dolly! as an answer can have an extra point - although the Blue Team would still have been the winners!. The Dementia Friendly Community project need your help to build the Dementia Friendly Community in the Glenrothes Area
They want to hear from people with dementia and their carers in the wider Glenrothes area about your experience of using local shops and services. From September, they’ll be extending their dementia friendly work in Glenrothes to Leslie, Markinch, Coaltown of Balgonie, Milton of Balgonie, Thornton and Kinglassie. Therefore, they’d like to hear from more people in all areas in and around Glenrothes about their experiences of getting out in their communities. They would also like to hear from you about any shops and services that you would like them to contact about becoming dementia friendly. The Dementia Friendly Community project can offer dementia awareness sessions to help staff support customers with dementia. They can also help these shops and businesses to think about how their lighting, noise levels, signage and layout can make it easier or more difficult for people with dementia to get out and about. Help them by giving your thoughts and feedback to make sure that the changes we’re suggesting are the right ones for you! The Dementia Friendly Community project can also help businesses and services to get one of these window stickers to help people know which ones are dementia friendly. To get involved, please contact Amanda Hunter at Alzheimer Scotland by telephone at 01592 803 800 or by email at ahunter@alzscot.org. |
