When finding words becomes difficult and frustration leads to stressed behaviours for someone living with dementia it is important to explore ways you can understand each other and communicate your feelings simply.
We'll be looking at what communication is and what are the basics and essentials to making it have meaning.

This session is designed to give family and friends caring for someone living with dementia an insight into the way that their brain is changed by the disease; how these changes can make a difference to the way they experience and respond to the world and how the carer can adapt their own responses to reduce  stressed behaviours.
This session if free for unpaid family carers to attend.

If you are a worker who works with unpaid family carers there will be a fee charged for attendance - please contact us for more details.
If you represent an organisation who would like to arrange to have a Take a Walk in Their Shoes or a Communicating with Dementia workshop for your workforce to help them understand and deal better when having contact with people living with dementia please contact
evan.carrie@fifecarers.co.uk to discuss arrangements and charges.

Book a place on the  Communicating with Dementia - words and beyond information session.
